US rejects demands to vacate Shamsi base


WASHINGTON: US reject the demands from Pakistani Officials’ that they will clear the Shamsi Air Base. CIA used Shamsi Air Base to Stage drone Attacks.


US personnel have not left the remote Pakistani military installation known as Shamsi Air Base and there is no plan for them to do so, said a US official familiar with the matter, who asked for anonymity to discuss sensitive material.

"That base is neither vacated nor being vacated," the official said. The information was confirmed by a second US official.

Earlier this week, Defense Minister Ahmed Mukhtar told the Financial Times that Pakistan had already stopped US drone operations there.

On Thursday, Mukhtar told Reuters: "When they (US forces) will not operate from there, no drone attacks will be carried out."

He said Islamabad had been pressuring the US to vacate the base even before the May 2 commando raid in which US Navy SEAL commandos killed Osama bin Laden. After the raid, Mukhtar said, "We told them again."

A senior Pakistani military official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, added that when US forces first launched counter-terrorism operations in Afghanistan, Pakistan "provided Americans two bases in Jacobabad and Shamsi. Jacobabad base has been vacated for long time ago, but Shamsi is still with them."

"They are vacating it," the official insisted. "Shamsi base was for logistic purpose. They also used it for drones for some time but no drones have been flown from there."

OGRA slashes petroleum prices


ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has slashed prices of POL products up to Rs. 3 per liter today. OGRA has issued official notification for 3.5 percent total reduction in the prices of petroleum products including petrol, high speed diesel, light diesel and high-octane.

According to OGRA notification, price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 3 per liter, high speed diesel by Rs. 2, and light diesel by Rs. 1.13 and high-octane by Rs. 2.21 per liter. There is no change announced in the price of kerosene oil

The new prices of petrol after reduction by Rs 3 have come to Rs 83.71 per liter.

High speed diesel will now sell at Rs 92.10 per litre. Similarly, light diesel will be available in the open market at Rs 81.39 per litre.

There is no change in the price of kerosene oil and it will be available at Rs 84.65 per litre. The new prices will be applicable from July 1


The sources also added that due to one percent cut in GST and reduction in crude oil’s prices in international market the authorities will give some relief to the POL products’ consumers in the country.

Imran expresses hopelessness from PPP Govt


There is no hope of any betterment from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Government, said Imran Khan (PTI) on Thursday. There is no any example of any government that disobeys the Supreme Court. Imran khan said while talking at airport.

Criticizing the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) he said that the party always supported the government and helped it from falling. He further said that PML-N has broken all records of a friendly opposition.

Khan said that the real opposition can save the country. Imran khan said on Azad Jammu Kashmir elections that the Election Commission itself confessed that 45% of the votes were bogus.

He said his party (PTI) will win next elections.

New Gas Load Management Plan


New tariff announce for Gas load shutting. The industry going to stop.

Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved the Gas Load Management Plan on Thursday.

The ECC approved the suggestion to suspend CNG supply for three days in a week.

Industries will be out of gas supply for two days in a week instead of three days.

The ECC postponed the suggestion of increase in the gas tariff.

Pakistan army blocks entry of Afghan militants


Three day operation in Mohmand Agency, Pakistan Army barred the entry of Afghan Militants as it gained the control of areas neat the Pak-Afghan Border.

During the Operation the clashed took place between the security forces and Afghan militants, and the sources said that around 40 militant are dead.

The forces had destroyed 17 militants hideout in the baizai region under his command in the lawless tribal area of mohmand, Brigadier Aftab Ahmad Said

“Militants were regularly attacking our posts on the Afghanistan border at Shonkari and Mithai and also targeting goods vehicles going to Afghanistan,” he said.

“With the support of army aviation aircraft, Helicopters and fighter jets an operation was launched three days ago. And we killed at least 40 militants,” Aftab Ahmed said.

Maqsood Hussain, a government official in Baizai, confirmed the raids and casualties, but it was not immediately clear how the Pakistani officials reached the body count of 40.

Durring the operation, one soldier was killed and several others were injured in a land mine explosion near the Pak-Afghan border.
